Did you know there were quarantines in the Bible? In fact they had it a lot worse... There was even less medical knowledge of how to treat sickness; So, in some cases, the sick were driven from the city! Can you imagine?

In tonight's story, we will learn that the Great Physician cares for us when our lives have been disrupted. He wants us to be better. BUT one of the most important parts is how we react AFTER we've been brought through it

THE CHURCH IS "THE BODY"
NOT "THE BUILDING"

Something that a you might have found confusing during our own Quarantine this year is "WHAT ABOUT CHURCH???" ... "We didn't get to go 'to church' for all those months!"

Christians sometimes forget but THE CHURCH IS THE PEOPLE! Romans 12:5 calls the Church "The Body of Christ" and First Corinthians calls it "one body." This is really special!
In the same way that a doctor takes care of our bodies, Jesus ("The Great Physician") cares for The Church! He died for our sins so that we might be saved from the sickness of sin. And after he rose from the grave and went back to heaven The Church was left here on earth to do the things he directed us to do: to show love, to teach what's right, and to grow closer to God. THAT'S what "Church" is. And we're meant to do those things whether we're INSIDE the church building or not!

In this next video, we'll learn a little bit more about how The Church is like the Body, which the "Great Physician" cares for. It's important, as followers of Christ, that we continue to BE the church in our communities so our part in the body is keeps the body healthy! That doesn't stop because we're not in the building!
